Elementary Student Council
The Elementary Student Council members helped collect items for the Food Drive from December 3rd through the 17th. The students went to classrooms on designated mornings to collect any items that were brought in. After collecting, they checked each item for its expiration date and then grouped items in 10s for easy counting. This year the Elementary exceeded the goal of 1,000 items and ended up collecting 1,325 items. On Friday, December 19th the Elementary Student Council members loaded up the items and delivered them for the backpack program to use.
The Elementary Student Council members read Thanksgiving themed books to the PK3 and the PK4 classrooms. All of the Preschool kiddos were amazing listeners and the Student Council members did a great job reading.
The Student Council and HAL members were given the opportunity to attend the Sizemore Sportsmanship Pep Rally and Women's Husker Basketball game at the Pinnacle Arena. We listened to the women's basketball and women's softball coaches speak. Along with student athletes that represented softball, basketball, wrestling, football, and volleyball. Their messages to us involved following your dreams, working hard to make them happen, and to never give up. During the women's basketball game, the kids were entertained by Lil Red, watching for themselves on the jumbotron, and making lots of noise as the other team shot free throws. It was a great day to be a Winside Wildcat!
