The Wildcat Marching Band performed in the Hobo Days parade in Brookings, SD on October 14th.
The trip started with a long bus ride beginning at 5:15 in the morning.
We arrived in Brookings and got into uniform. The parade is quite long and even though it started at 9:30, we didn’t get on the route until about 10:30. It is a pretty long parade; about 1.5 miles, just ask the percussionists!
All went well, and the judges comments were positive, but with suggestions for improvement. The crowd was very appreciative, yelling “Thanks for coming!” all the way along the route.
We stopped for some lunch on the way home in Sioux Falls at the mall. I believe everyone found something to enjoy during the trip. We are looking forward to participating in the next Hobo Days!
